12/17/2023 0 Comments Nexplanon migraine with aura![]() ![]() My gyn told me that I'd be less likely to experience the mood-related side effects on Nexplanon because it doesn't have estrogen, is this true? Concerned because I've read that it caused depression for many on this subreddit. I really like the idea of Nexplanon, and would prefer it over the pill, but after my experience with my first prescription I'm really wary of anything hormonal, especially when I'm still recovering from the hit my mental health took over the last month. I'm only three days into the pack so if I'm doing better on Lo Loestrin then depending on cost I may just stick with it. Went to a gynecologist this week who talked over options with me and ended up giving me a trial pack of Lo Loestrin FE to try out while they run my insurance to see if I'm able to get Nexplanon. I went on birth control for the first time in early Jan (a generic of Loestrin 24 FE) and had a pretty terrible experience - it made me majorly depressed, I was having horrible breakdowns almost daily and it was taking a toll on my schoolwork and my relationship so I stopped taking the pills at the end of the first pack. r/sterilization /r/FAMnNFP /r/Vasectomy/ /r/malecontraception/ Use the filters to see or exclude posts from one category and "All Posts" to return to the original feed.
